At the Gneuss fiber production plants, along with the processing of the primary material, the processing of non-dried flexi (waste from used PET bottles) or waste generated during production and having very different viscosities is also carried out to obtain high-quality fiber. It is possible to produce staple fiber – for example, hollow fiber, and bicomponent fiber, and in the latter case it is possible to obtain different viscosity on one feedstock by setting a different vacuum supply level on two extruders. When processing bottle flex and industrial waste, the MRS extruder is also used for the production of carpet threads and nonwovens with a bicomponent structure. 100% use of crushed bottle waste at the same time gives tangible savings on the raw materials and materials used.
